My day trading days are over.

Dear Trading Friends,

good willAfter day trading going on over 25 years now, I am putting my day trading shoes away.

I simply do not have the drive, passion, and desire to continue day trading any longer.

I will be moving back into private trading and back to more of a swing and positional type of trading career from this point forward in my life.

One thing I know about trading is you can make and lose money in a very quick amount of time.  I am simply not smart enough, patient enough, or hungry enough to day trade any longer at this time in my life.

I have given this a lot of thought over the last year as I have pulled away from the public, and I am happy to say I am happy to be moving onto my next great adventure.

In the end, day trading was only a zero sum game for me.  I had really good years trading.  And I had bad years trading that emotionally took its toll on my psyche and being.  Day trading is a skill perhaps left to younger traders with less emotional baggage they carry.

From my personal experience, I know my best years as a day trader were in my later 20’s to around 43 years old.  After this point, I could feel my energy and enthusiasm waning to be in front of the computer every time the market was open.

The market as a whole has moved, in my humble opinion, from an open outcry world into the global world that perhaps requires around the clock type of an approach or a team of traders that have different times they are responsible for trading.

For instance, a team of 3 traders each working approximately 8 hours a day is feasible, if you have the right team placed together each knowing what they should or should not do at any given time.

Perhaps, I will move into more of an educational role as I get older for any day traders that want to continue in this direction.

Me, personally, will be moving into a longer term point of view in my trading utilizing a concept of wealth cycles taught by Michael Maloney.  This goes back to the Bible … there is a season for everything under the sun.

In closing, I want to wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2013.  If I may be of any assistance, please feel free to look me up and check in on me.

God Bless and Good Trading to You,
